Great new venue in Berkeley, just off of University Avenue between Shattuck and MLK, designed as "an intimate place for music." Dick Fregulia on the Steinway grand, Piro Patton on vibraphone, Steve Webber on bass, Bill Moody on drums. Check out the venue website at backroommusic.com. They have couches and bar tables, but serve no food or drinks. You can bring your own, however, and there is a Trader Joe's a block down University open until 10 p.m.
